Expected Qualities

The .NET Foundation is an independent organization that fosters innovation and collaboration within the .NET community. The Foundation is responsible for promoting the use and development of the .NET platform, supporting open source projects, and providing guidance and resources to developers and organizations.
In terms of election criteria for the .NET Foundation, there are a few key factors to consider. These include:

  • Expertise: Candidates for the .NET Foundation should have a strong background in .NET development, including experience with the platform, its tools and technologies, and its community. This expertise may be demonstrated through a variety of means, such as contributions to open source projects, speaking engagements, publications, or other notable achievements.
  • Leadership: Candidates should demonstrate strong leadership skills and a commitment to advancing the .NET platform and community. This may include experience leading teams, managing projects, or serving in a leadership role within a developer community or organization.
  • Collaborative spirit: The .NET Foundation values collaboration and a commitment to working together to achieve shared goals. Candidates should be able to demonstrate a willingness to work collaboratively with others, whether through contributions to open source projects, participation in community events, or other forms of engagement.
  • Diversity: The .NET Foundation values diversity and is committed to promoting inclusivity and equity within the .NET community. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to diversity and inclusion, whether through their personal actions or through their contributions to the community.
  • Passion: Finally, candidates for the .NET Foundation should demonstrate a genuine passion for the .NET platform and its potential to make a positive impact on the world. This passion may be evidenced through a variety of means, such as participation in DNF Summit or other coding events, mentorship of junior developers, or other forms of engagement with the .NET community.

If you are selected for the slate

  • Some of the questions from your nomination submission will be shared publicly to inform voting members.
  • You will be asked to provide a short video answering set questions. These videos will be about 2 - 3 minutes long.
